TRUCKS
Since we are a mobile society I think that trucks and clay go together: a little brick, mortar and wheels.
Our mobility has offered us new ground to cover, things to see and cultures to taste but it has also made us ravenous to tame, develop and control our environment.
My mixed media pieces are thrown, altered and constructed clay decorated with slips, underglaze and glaze. Some are designed to fit on salvaged toy trucks. Others are embellished with tin doors, birds, trees, nests and other found stuff.
"If you want to move something (even your mother-in-law), use a TRUCK. Regardless of the images that cross your path, into your life, the wheels keep on turning. I use a combination of materials and shapes to move images, ideas and objects."
